There are three tabs used for configuring each shipping method. (Local Pickup, Local Delivery, and Standard Shipping)

Local Pickup

  • Use Local Pickup: Turn on or turn on/off the Local Pickup shipping method on the storefront.
  • Use Shopify's Default Local Pickup: if you use Local Pickup as Shopify Default, you should check this option. However, if your business is not used to default Shopify you can turn off this option.

For example, if you choose not to use location to manage stock on Shopify but still wish to offer the Pickup at Store option, you can uncheck this field. In doing so, the available locations will be displayed, and customers can select without concern for stock availability in Shopify locations.

Note: If you turn this option off, the app will replace the shipping method label with "Local Pickup" on the checkout page.

  • Calendar Type: Allow users to select a display type of calendar on the storefront.
There are three options available:

  1. None: This option entails not utilizing any specific calendar type.
  2. Delivery Date

2. Delivery Date & Time Slot

  • The number of Slots Available per Day: This configuration is applicable only for the Calendar Type set as Delivery Date. It indicates a limited quantity of same-day shipping slots.

Note: 0 is unlimited.

  • Time Slots: This configuration is applicable only for the Calendar Type set as Delivery Date & Time Slot.

Understand the fields under Time Slots:

There are 2 ways to configure time slots are Basic setup and Advanced setup:

Basic Setup

  • Open Time: refers to the initial operating hours or the starting time when your business begins its operations.
  • Closed Time: refers to the closing hours or the time when your business concludes its operations for the day. It marks the end of the business day.
  • Time Duration per Slot: refers to the individual time interval assigned to each time slot that is displayed on the storefront. It indicates the duration of each time slot that customers can select or view when making appointments or reservations.

Advanced Setup

The "Generate Time Slots Automatically" button allows for the automatic generation of time slots based on the parameters set in the "Basic Setup." It creates time slots according to the specified duration and other basic configuration settings.

After generating the time slots, you can configure specific settings for each individual time slot.

It is termed "Advanced Setup" because it enables the addition of extra available slots for specific time durations or the option to disable specific durations. This feature provides more granular control over the configuration of time slots.

Explain the files in the slot below:

1. Label: The text will appear on the calendar in the storefront, typically representing a time slot duration. E.g: "8:00 AM - 10:00 AM”.

2. Start Time: The beginning time of a time slot duration. E.g.: 8:00 AM.

3. End Time: The ending time of a time slot duration. E.g.: 10:00 AM.

4. Slot Available: Allows users to select the same slot up to a certain threshold in a single day.

Note: 0 is unlimited.

5. Extra Slots for Special Days of the Week and Additional Slots Available: These two fields work in conjunction; they are utilized if you wish to allocate additional slots for specific times on certain days of the week.

Note: The total number of available slots is determined by adding the Additional Slots Available to the Slot Available on the selected day of the week.

You can utilize the action button on the right of Time Slots to add or remove time slot periods.

  • Working Days: The business's operating day for above Time Slots
  • Holidays: Select the holidays that are specific to your country or business.

Local Delivery

  • Use Local Delivery: Turn on or turn on/off the Local Delivery shipping method on the storefront.
  • Use Shopify's Default Local Delivery: if you use Local Delivery as Shopify Default, you should check this option. However, if your business is not used to default Shopify you can turn off this option.

For example, if you choose not to use location to manage stock on Shopify but still wish to offer the Local Delivery option, you can uncheck this field. In doing so, the available locations will be displayed, and customers can select without concern for stock availability in Shopify locations.

Note: If you turn this option off, the app will replace the shipping method label with "Local Delivery" on the checkout page.

  • Use Configuration Same as Local Pickup: use this field if you are utilizing the business configuration settings such as Time Slots, Working Day, and Holiday, and you want them to be consistent with the Local Pickup option. This indicates that the time slots, working days, and holidays configured for your business will apply in a similar manner to the Local Pickup service.

Standard Shipping

  • Use Standard Shipping: Turn on or turn on/off the Standard Shipping shipping method on the storefront.

Google Calendar

This feature enables integration with Google Calendar. After creating an order, the Pickup Delivery Date app will set up a schedule for both customers and staff on Google Calendar.

  • The button "Connect Your Google Calendar": Click on this button to authorize your account for the app to send the schedule to Google Calendar.
  • Staff Emails: You can add the email addresses of your staff to this field to receive the schedule on Google Calendar. Please note that the emails should be separated by commas.

After creation, both you and your customers will receive the schedule as shown below on Google Calendar:
